Today I Tweeted the following question: “NEED ADVICE: I’m thinking of creating 2 blog post titles, 1 that is social media friendly for the day of the post and then re-title it something more SEO Friendly.”

Our friend @FamilyBusinessU asked for further clarification, so here it goes…

Drop a comment and let me know what you think?

  • I think the best thing to do is to make the url seo friendly so the work would be much easier for you
  • Aha! When you asked on Twitter, I thought you just meant whether or not to make titles SEO friendly, or social media friendly (not changing after a few days).

I talked with @notixtech and they said that the idea of changing to SEO friendly after a few days is actually a good idea. @notixtech said that what you want to watch out for is that sometimes when you rename the title, it changes the URL (thus breaking any links that used to point to that article). If that happens, let @notixtech know, there might be a redirect plugin for Wordpress. Otherwise, it seems like changing the title from social media friendly to SEO friendly after a few days gets you the best of both worlds.
  • Awesome guys. thanks for the help. Here is what I might start doing. Make the URL SEO Friendly, title it something social media friendly, and then go and change it a few days later to what I thought was SEO friendly.

    Talk to you guys soon
