Oh wait, there’s no such thing…

Looking for a job? You’ve probably realized by now looking for a safe, secure job in this economy is next to impossible. Here’s a nice list of encouragement:

  1. Oh wait, everyone’s looking for a job right now
  2. If your young, your competing against people with tons of experience
  3. If your old, your competing against people with much lower salary demands
  4. If you do land it, you’ll be the low man on the totem pole
  5. When your the low man, your first in line to get laid off
  6. When you do get laid off, it’s back to looking for that safe, secure job again
  7. Who wants to be in charge of their own destiny anyway?
  8. Don’t worry, at least you’ll be making someone else wealthy
  9. Look for a job with a nice pension plan, becuase those still exist…
  10. In America, a higher salary just means bigger house/car/credit card payments
  11. Doing the same thing everyday of your life is fun!
  12. You could be doing something you love for little to no money
  13. Entrepreneurship is risky anyway–besides what’s the reward?

StumbleUpon It!

  • Thanks for the encouragement, Matt!
  • I agree. Employment is very close to slavery. The most difficult thing about being self-employed is being an excellent boss to yourself. It requires savvy, discipline and inspiration but the freedom is well worth the risk!

Don't let your self fall into the rat race. To many people do it. It was one of the reasons the economy is where it is now. The people who didn't fall into it are still living life the same way they were a year ago.

Been there, done that. Just ask anyone who was in aerospace in Southern California in the late '80s and early '90s.

Security becomes higher priority when you have a family depending on your income.

Dont worry Andy, you've got to do what you got to do to make it happen!

    Keep truckin!
  • So true!

It makes me feel even worse since I'm trying to get a job.

I'm only doing it to cover my expenses until my blog starts making me enough money.
