Entrepreneurs Start Doing Shit You Hate
Everytime I have a breakdown, a panic attack, and I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing as an entrepreneur/ business owner–something good comes out of it. When I’m totally out of my comfort zone is when I have my biggest breakthroughs.

  • Yeah, i was reading an interview on Jennifer Aniston the other day and she said that "Everything you want in life is just right outside your comfort zone". I guess that is how a girl-next-door like she got Brad Pitt in the first place! I mean she is hot, but not Angelina smoking hot. Anyway, getting off topic on that.

But it's true, you gotta push pass your boundaries and that is where the greatest change happens. Working with all these high net worth clients with years of professional and personal experience is daunting, especially when i possess a baby face no one can take seriously and have yet to earn the credentials to put under my name. The thought of looking like a fool is enough to deter me from approaching these people who know so much more than me, but hey, i'm glad i did it. They might question how audacious i am, but it turned out to my favor after overcoming all these initial self-impose limitations!
  • Hi Melissa, I'm a much bigger Jennifer Aniston fan--but yes, getting outside my comfort zone is what I try to do everyday.

It's all about getting uncomfortable but then showing confidence when you are outside your comfort zone. You have to act like you've been there before, whether it's a new client, public speaking, wherever--you have to make it happen either way.

    Thanks for the comment!

I liked the video but I think the title is wrong. Entrepreneurs naturally love being in uncomfortable situations, that why the do what they do. I do agree that going outside your comfort zone will be beneficial for anyone
  • Wbernuy, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure anyone likes being "uncomfortable". I think there are people who have more tolerance for risk and for eating peanut butter and jelly b/c they can't afford anything else, but I'm not sure they like it.

Hope to have you back soon!

Sounds like you are accepting your discomfort Matt. Awareness, acceptance and acknowledgment of your stress indicator (discomfort) is the first step. Change happens when you are willing to accept and love your stress indicator. Read more on the A to Z Steps to Managing Stress here http://tinyurl.com/mke5uu
