If you are confident you succeed if you have doubt you fail. How do you feel confidence even in the deepest darkest days of entrepreneurship?

I think in most cases one's business and start-up confidence will come from your business plan and your co's moneymaking abilities. Even though you're a truly outgoing and positive person that alone cannot stand the test of business time.

As an example - I'm not really sure how you make money. That's the truth. I see you have some ads on Under30CEO, and here too...but does that bring in the bread. Understand that I'm not at all taking a stab at your work, but it is just not clear to me, so how can you expect to be paid. As you said yourself, Gen Y will take anything we can for free. It's okay for people to see how you need and will make money. I am a consultant, with charge-out rates, and it is clear how we make revenue.

Step 1 in making it through your small slump and questioning is reviewing your monetary goals and if you're meeting them. If not, it's the business, not you that needs tweaking. Well, okay, you WITH the business.
  • Hey,thanks for tweeting your response to me. Advertising revenue will come soon--we just need to put out content that blows people away... it's going to spread like wildfire--we are sure of that.

Once we drive traffic, what we can offer our community is endless.

AND I truly look forward to your upcoming, and improving content.
  • I really do appreciate people who ask the tough questions, so don't hesitate to question my business model. Thanks for your continued support.
  • Hey Matt,

I'm going through this same thing with my company. We're hanging in there, but expansion seems like a financial impossibility. All this hard work and losing money here and there is tough on anybody. I've come to the realization, that maybe there are other avenues, maybe this is not the right time to be my own boss.

There are aspects of my business that I LOVE to do, but there are aspects of my business that I am not too fond of, but in the beginning you have to wear all of the hats.

I try to surround myself with people that love my products, sell for me (for free) and really believe in me, although some may be blindly optimistic to what really goes into growing a company. I have a grand vision of what I want, but to know that the goal is so far out of reach is tough for me to face. There comes a time in every entrepreneur's life where you wake up and you think you're screwed, but you know what? It was a damn good learning experience, wasn't it? You have done something that not many 20 somethings do. You stand out in a crowd of recent graduates because you have lived every aspect of business, honed your skills and are a power-house.

Good luck to you in your decisions. I know EXACTLY where you are coming from because I am in the same bind right now.

    Take care.
  • Mike, whats up thanks for the comment. It's not easy to keep your confidence level up! I'm rooting for you and I'm know that we will both get more than just a learning experience out of this. Let's talk soon--I know big things are on the horizon. I mean, come on-- you were in Entrepreneur Mag!
  • Read Harmony Wealth if you're interested in learning some really cool things about the Law of Attraction. The author is one of the guys who was on The Secret. And you say that you're missing the profit action on this site? I'll shoot you an email later with ideas...
  • Check back tomorrow as I have a followup post to go up about personal branding and confidence
